Each year we see the same seasonal cycle of fitness from the majority: Winter - people’s healthy habits fall by the wayside. Spring, people panic as nice weather approaches. Summer, people kick it into high-gear as they want to look and feel better. Fall, people begin to mosey off because it’s time for a break.
So how do we stop this habitual routine? It’s not a simple task as it feels natural to go along with the flow. Goals can be difficult to maintain, but there’s hope! Here is my method for breaking the cycle:
FAITH
Faith is the complete trust or confidence that you can do something with or without tangible evidence to prove it. You must convince yourself that it’s attainable first.
I can show you scientific proof that proves more vegetables will help you lose weight. I can also highlight clients’ successes, but that means nothing if you don’t
think
you can or
want
to incorporate more vegetables in your diet.
To attain faith, you need awareness…a word that has almost become white noise due to it’s over-use. Many people think this simply means being aware that you are stuck in the aforementioned cycle, but that’s not where awareness ends.
Awareness includes an understanding of
HOW
the cycle is affecting you. This provides the necessary determination to change, increasing your overall faith in the process.
UNITY
Faith is a powerful driver and it’s even more impactful when it’s coupled with unity. Here’s why:
Professionals use words like ‘motivation’, attempting to spark some sort of drive in individuals, but motivation is fleeting and will only get you so far.
If you wake up feeling energized and no barriers exist in the path to your morning workout, you are likely to succeed!. If you had a bad night’s sleep and more obstacles form throughout your day, all your energy has been consumed by stressors. Even though you are motivated and have every intention of changing, your faith and self-discipline can only take you so far.
You need UNITY. It’s easy to give up on a new challenge, especially if you’re tackling it alone.
Think of it this way: In the wild, an animal sought out by predatory animals is vulnerable on it’s own. In this case, it’s not good to be a renegade. But, in it’s pack/herd, it’s much more likely to fight off the lurking predators, or obstacles. We humans are no different.
You don’t need a professional to tell you to stop eating donuts every day before work. You need a professional to help you find out
why you do this, and
how, together, we can find a healthier way to combat your stress bringing back the vibrancy life has to offer. Behavior change is difficult, but not impossible.
ENERGIZE
Part of life’s vibrancy doesn’t involve just you…it involves others as well. So, we invest your money where it counts. 20% of the total costs you spend goes toward a different local/national non-profit each month.
When others are tied to your success, it has a much bigger meaning now…
As your hard work is beginning to pay off, you feel stronger than ever. This is because you have the support you need, increasing your confidence.
People begin noticing a difference in you physically and mentally. More often, your days are beginning to be more positive and you can face life’s challenge’s head on.
The ENERGIZE stage, as I call it, is what helps you retain the changes you’ve worked so hard to achieve.
Ultimately, we strive to educate and empower you to continue independently. You won’t be perfect at it, but that energy is something unique and results as something special for you as an individual and others around you.
LIVE
Here you enter the last stage, LIVE. Time to unleash what makes you unique. I could leave you with a cliche’ of some kind, but actually this stage is a bit of a question mark…
I don’t know what your life is like, but one thing is for sure: Self-care is the key to fully unlocking what makes you unique. We all have the ability to create a unique impact. To do so, you have to become a renegade where it counts and rebel against the seasonal cycle of fitness. Partner with us to get it done!
